Our client had a mature and well established garden with some great planting already in-situ. The South facing garden benefits from full sun throughout the course of the day which she wanted to make the most of and tasked us with creating a garden to draw her out into it.

We designed a scheme with a combination of complementary materials and several seating areas which lead to the new garden room in the back corner of the garden. We added height and structure with the bespoke Larch pergola and included a large raised planter area with a mature specimen Acer added as the focal point. This helps to divide the space up and give some beautiful views from the different patio spaces.

Note the new scheme has absolutely no grass but there is masses of greenery and the soft aesthetic of the gravel pathway and patio area underneath the pergola stop the space from appearing harsh.

We added lighting to further enhance the space and up-light some of the feature specimen trees in the garden. It’s a truly magical space and she’s very much enjoying using it.
