Duddingston, Edinburgh
This client had a poorly functioning driveway which wasn’t working well for them. The entrance to their home was dark, unappealing and overgrown with old conifers.
We designed and created a much more user friendly driveway, opened up the wall a little so that both cars could enter and exit independently and created a wider, welcoming pathway leading to their front door.
We finished the driveway with EccoGravel 40 gravel stabilisation system to provide an easy-maintenance, free-draining surface and laid Stonemarket Beachside Sandstone paving to the pathway.
We brought in pockets of planting to help with the flow of the space and add softness and visual interest. We added a beech hedging inside the front boundary wall to eventually give some privacy from the road and switched the outdated conifers for Sorbus trees with lots of colourful underplanting. The difference in light is incredible! Our client is to add some uplighting within the planting areas and a fence to the side boundary to finish off and bring it all together.
Our clients are delighted with the result.
